The Jefferson Messenger Ed 21 Vol 2

The Jefferson Messenger

Edition 21. November 10, 2018 . Volume 2
The 2nd Amendment is for everyone!
Thirty-one states allow the open carrying of a handgun without any license or permit, and only 5 States (California, Florida, Illinois New York, and South Carolina), as well as the District of Columbia, generally prohibit people from openly carrying handguns in public places.
We the People have an Unalienable Right to self defense. The government has no duty to protect the individual from crime or violence. Tyrannical governments have caused the death of more of their own people than all of the wars in history.
In 1967 California banned the open carry of a loaded weapon contrary to every principle of Liberty. Further in 2012 and 2013 the California Legislature with AB 147 and AB1527 banned the open carry of unloaded weapons. More recently, California’s laws AB109, (release of prisoners) Prop. 47 (Reduced Penalties for Crimes) and SB 54 (Sanctuary State) has released criminals and felons into our counties, while illegal immigrants are allowed to enter our state undeterred. Even if the government had a duty to protect, there are not enough police or deputies in order to be on duty everywhere, all the time. With very few exceptions, we find ourselves deprived of any meaningful way to defend ourselves, our families or our community.
The U.S. Supreme court has unequivocally stated in McDonald v Chicago and Heller v District of Columbia that the “open carry of a loaded weapon is the core right protected under the 2nd Amendment. The Ninth Circuit has affirmed in Young v Hawaii that the core right protected under the 2nd Amendment is the open carry of a loaded weapon and that right extends beyond the home and into public areas.
California Penal Code Section 26150 (b)(2) states that the Sheriff of a county with a population of less than 200,000 people may issue a permit for the open carry of a loaded weapon, to a person upon proof of all of the following:
1) The applicant is of good moral character.
2) Good cause exists for issuance of the license.
3) The applicant is a resident, or his place of business or employment is in the county and he spends a substantial amount of time there.
4) The license is to carry an exposed pistol or revolver capable of being concealed. (no rifles.)
It is abhorrent to have to ask permission to exercise a Right given to us by God; however it is for the moment the only recourse. Ask your Sheriff “Will you issue 26150(b)(2) permits?” If not…Why Not?

Hello, Democrats and Progressive Friends!

This is a chance for you to help make sure that every Progressive in Amador County VOTES!! Turn-out is crucial; if all the Dems and Progressives vote, there is a good chance that Jessica Morse could win. Many of you have already offered to make calls to our lists of "occasional' voters and we now have updated voter lists available.

There are lists for Vote by Mail folks as well as poll voters; there are instructions and scripts for chatting with folks and for leaving messages. Please note that about 80% of calls go to voice mail and we want you to leave messages. Please call or come by our office Tuesday, Oct. 30th, after 10:00 am for lists and instructions.

The Jefferson Messenger - Ed 20 Vol 2

The Jefferson Messenger

Edition 20. October 27, 2018 . Volume 2
If you want something you've never had you must be willing to do something you've never done.”― Thomas Jefferson
What If?
The Year 1620:

What if the Separatists that had fled to Holland in fear of the Church of England in the 1600's, did not step on board the Mayflower? What if they had felt it would just take too long to get to Virginia, their intended destination? Maybe it would be too dangerous or just take too much effort to do this? What if they thought it was not so bad living in Holland? They were granted asylum in Holland. However they were never allowed to integrate into the Dutch society. The children would grow up in a safe country of course and that was all good. Or was it?

The Dutch culture and traits were being instilled into their children and the Pilgrims feared that they would be eventually stripped of their own culture. In the year 1620, they joined up with a London stock company who financed their voyage and boarded the Mayflower. The Pilgrims set sail for the New World and new hope.

Fast forward to 2018:

What if the Jefferson movement is going to take too long? What if people say it is never going to happen and why even try? It is just too much work to make it happen anyway. What if the people think that living in California is not "that" bad? Sure paying more taxes is easier than finding a different place to live and having to move. Right? What about the children? They have schools to go to and education is free. But is it really free? Are moral values being instilled into your children at school or are they being indoctrinated by an agenda that the State of California has set forth? What about representation? Sure the Southern part of the state has more say than we do when it comes to passing laws, but we are in a more rural area and it won't affect us that much will it? The Southern part of the state creates the laws and they do affect us. We in the North are forgotten.

The United States is the last greatest country in the world. Unlike the Pilgrims, there are no other countries we can flee to. In the  year 2018, two more counties joined the twenty-one counties and boarded the Jefferson to set sail for the New State and new hope. The time has come. #Jefferson23Strong!
